Foreign subcontractor

Hello

Could you please help me understand how to fill and which form to use for 2025 tax filling?
here is my case:
I live in the USA and I am a green card holder, not a citizen. I have no income with any US company, but I work as a contractor for several foreign companies of the same group performing financial control services (4 contracts for two similar positions for two non US branches). I don't quite understand exactly how and what kind of form I need to fill and submit.

As a green card holder living in the US, you are treated as a US tax resident and must report all worldwide income, even if it is paid by foreign companies and  no US tax forms were issued.

Because you are providing services as a contractor, this income is reported as self-employment income on Schedule C. You will file Form 1040 and include Schedule C to report the income and expenses.

You should report the gross amounts you were paid and you may deduct business expenses related to your work.

Thank you!
If we considering TurboTax for filling, how should I proceed with 1040 and Schedule C?

I just tried to draft my fillings as a self-employed and couldn't find 1040, It requires different types of 1099.

Form 1040 is the name of the actual US return.  You do not need 1099's to report your income. You can enter it manually in TurboTax.

To enter Schedule C follow these instructions:

  1. Navigate to the Schedule C section:
    • TurboTax Online/Mobile: Go to the Schedule C screen under Wages & Incomeunder Wages & Incomeunder Wages & Income
    • TurboTax Desktop:
      • Go to Federal Taxes.
      • Go to Wages & Income.
      • If asked, How do you want to enter your income?, select I'll choose what I work on.
      • Under Business Items, select Start or Update next to Business Income and Expenses (Sch C).
  2. Answer Yes to Did you have any income or expenses for a business in 2025?
    • If you've already entered self-employment work and need to enter more, select Add another line of work.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to enter your Schedule C.

If you are having a hard time understanding this, we have experts that could prepare the return for you and walk you step-by step through the process.
