filing status and state taxes

In 2022 my husband and I sold our home in Vermont and purchased a home in Pennsylvania.  We filed as married jointly and claimed Vermont as our residency state for 2022.  We spent eight months in Vermont and four months in Pennsylvania, so we figured we needed to claim Vermont as our resident state.

In 2023 we purchased a condo in Vermont and maintained our home in Pennsylvania.  During 2023 (to date), my husband spent more time in Vermont and I spent more time in Pennsylvania.  I'm wondering if we need to change our filing status to married filing separately so that he would file as a Vermont resident and I would file as a Pennsylvania resident.  Also in 2023, we each withdrew some funds from our retirement accounts, and knowing that retirement withdrawals are taxed differently in each state, makes us wonder if filing separately would benefit our tax situation.

Please advise.
