Filing more returns

I have a total of 9 family members wanting me to file for them. Is the best way for filing more returns to buy multiple Turbo Tax products?

The TurboTax CD/Download software will let you print unlimited returns BUT you can only e-file up to 5 Federal returns.  After the 5 e-files you must mail in the returns.  Buying another product will not get you 5 additional e-files, the limit is set by the IRS.

There is a $25 to e-file a State return.  You can mail them in to avoid the charge.

If you use the Online version, there is a charge for the returns (Federal and State) but there is no charge to e-file.  The Online version is good for a Federal & State return per UserID and password.  You would need to create a new account for each person.  If you use the same account for everyone, each new return would overwrite the old return and you cannot get it back.

The TurboTax desktop software includes 5 free federal tax return e-files (IRS limit). Any tax returns over the 5 have to be printed and mailed to the IRS. For a state tax return there is an e-file charge for each state return e-filed, except for a New York state return.
