We filed a 1041 for my Mom's estate using the wrong EIN. How do I correct this?
Is it sufficient to amend the 1041 using the correct EIN and noting in the explanation the original EIN that was used? Or do I need to file two amended returns, one using the correct EIN, and one using the incorrect EIN zero-ing out the line items reported in the original return?
