I was not happy that half-way through doing my return for free, I was told I would have to pay $39 for my federal and $39 for my state. This was supposedly only because my interest income was over $1500. It was over by $391. I don't understand the justification for the change from free to $39 for each return only because of going over a $1500 arbitrary amount.
