What?   Where are you looking?   If you are getting a federal refund it is on line 35a of your Form 1040.   If you are getting a state refund it will be shown somewhere near the bottom of your state return.   There are thirty seven states with income tax return forms so we cannot tell you what line to look at unless we know the state.

Where does it say you owe tax?

On the federal tax summary page. It shows a summary of everything. And for 10plus yrs it has always said$0. For taxes owed at the bottom part. Now it shows over 2700 owed which is coming off my refund amount.  Im in Illinois if that matters but its for federal not state.

Still not understanding......does your Form 1040 show tax due on line 37?   What $2700 are you talking about?

Can you put up a screen shot without your personal information?

Sorry----we cannot see your screen and have no idea what you are looking at.   What is on line 35a of your Form 1040?   Or on line 37?
