Ok my return was rejected because of a needed update to interview questions on 1095-A marketplace interview.

I went back through this section and I don't see anything that has changed. Everything is still filled out the same. Do I have to wait till February 20th for the changes or do I just refile?

I had the same rejection code and logged in this morning to update and refile, but no new questions were present.  I called TT and the woman I spoke with said that she is not 100% when the update is going to be completed.  She recommended waiting another day before refiling to be sure the update has happened.  We walked thru the questions and no new questions were present.  She said I could go ahead and refile but it may come back rejected again.

The first time i had to wait 5 days in the air of tax returns waiting for an acceptance or rejected email.  5 days to get a rejected email.  I dont want to waste another 5 days waiting, so I am going to check back later today to see if any new questions were added.

I wouldnt bother calling TT.  They dont have any new information.

Here is how you complete IRS form 8962.

Please follow the directions in the TurboTax email regarding whether you need to amend your tax return or mail form 8962 to the IRS.

See these directions:

  • Log into your return
  • Select that you want to Add a state - this lets you into the program without the amend process starting.
  • In the top right corner, locate the Magnifying glass/Search
  • enter the exact words 1095a.
  • Select the first entry Jump to 1095a.
  • Fill in the 1095a information.
  • Print and mail IRS form 8962.
  • The IRS may adjust your refund once they receive your form 8962.

@Joshuahowe

I see the rejection message ... what you need to do is open your return ... complete the 1095-A section again then complete the REVIEW  &  FILE tabs and retransmit the return.

I got the same message saying log in today (2/20) and under the deductions part to look for interview questions 1095 A regulating. What does that mean? I don’t see any new questions.

I’m having the same problem. So I need to re-enter the info on 1095A? Also do I need to submit the 8962 as well?

I got the same rejection message and saw nothing new when I logged in today 2/20. Has the new question not been uploaded? Should I wait to refile?

Just got off the phone with IT.  They don't seem to know about this issue.  I mentioned that many people who received 1095 would be experiencing this.  Digging a little deeper, it may require more than just answering the on-line interview questions.  Printing out form 8962 and mailing to IRS, etc.

I don't remember having to do this last year.  What has changed?

9:59AM 2/20,

I just spoke with TT and they stated that the form has not been updated by the IRS  and to give it at least 48hrs. I was told to try back on Feb 24.   I hope this helps because this is very frustrating.

Darnit- I just refiled this morning, as it is Feb 20 and that was the date in the instructions. I was not presented with any questions. Does this mean it will get rejected again in 5 days from now?

@pmoney  when i spoke to TT at 7:30am CST she had no idea when it would be updated.  She told me i could refile now if i wanted or i could wait until tomorrow.  I didnt want to waste 5 more days of not knowing so i chose to wait it out.... If you get your acceptance soon, please let us know!  I think the others in here would go ahead and refile as well!  Thanks! Good luck!

Just got off the phone with customer service it's 10am EST on Feb 20.  She said this is a problem a lot of people are having and we walked through my return but no change was found in the 1095 section.

She said it looks like the update is late and to wait until tomorrow morning to check again.  She doesn't know what the updated question is but said there should be a notice to complete the section once the update is live.  This is frustrating but I'd rather wait a few days until I'm sure it's up instead of getting rejected again.

Im also experiencing this, i've checked that section today and i see no new questions. Everything is correct I've entered 8962 on the search and it takes me back to the 1095A. As you log in your 1095A info it automatically enters the 8962 form..which we don't see. My child is 6 yrs old and for sure not filing separate. So what am I doing wrong?

I shall wait as well...another day.

Did you or anyone see a different question asked besides the following:

Because none of those apply to me and I thought I had already answered that question when I originally received the rejection error. I don't see a new interview question today, being Feb. 20th, 2020 and all.

For me, those questions were already there. They kept my answers. It seems the update is late for this form and we are all just going to have to wait another day or two.
