You can use TurboTax Deluxe for expat- friendly forms. These include Form 2555 (Foreign Earned Income) and Form 1116 (Foreign Tax Credit). There is otherwise no special "expat" type of return or "expat" category. You go to the relevant sections depending on the type of income you have (stocks in stocks, interest as interest, etc).

To report your non-US earned income, go here:

  • Federal Taxes
  • Less Common Income
  • Foreign Earned Income and Exclusion
Answer the questions carefully, and consider your options so far as opting to exclude foreign earnings (if that option is available)
