Error with Roth Contribution

On my Federal return I am getting the following notification - You told us your Roth contribution basis, but the sum of your prior year contributions in history of Roth activities is less than the contribution basis.   How do I fix this ?

Please verify, that the prior contribution you entered matches what was recorded in TurboTax previously reported. If you didn't report all contributions in the past then this might be different.

You can enter/edit your net contributions during the IRA contribution interview or when you enter a Roth distribution in the retirement section.

  1. Click on "Search" on the top right and type “IRA contributions”
  2. Click on “Jump to IRA contributions"
  3. Select “Roth IRA

or

  1. Click on "Search" on the top and type “1099-R”
  2. Click on “Jump to 1099-R” and enter all your 1099-Rs
  3. Click "Continue" on the "Review your 1099-R info" screen
  4. Answer all the questions and make sure you enter the net contributions prior to 2021 on the "Enter Prior Year Roth IRA Contributions" screen
