Error 119

Downloaded TurboTax Desktop Deluxe early January. Set up account with personal info and started return. Opened and closed file numerous times with no problem, the last time was about two or three days ago. Went to open it a few minutes ago and get Error 119. Why? absolutely nothing changed on my computer. Was Win 11, still is Win 11, no updates installed. Used other software (Excel, Word) with no problems.

Absolutely NO, repeat NO CONFIDENCE that reinstalling Turbo Tax or starting a new return on the current one will not cause this to happen again.

Looked at some of the totally outdated Community responses, ridiculous, would have to have an advanced IT Degree with a decade of experience to understand them, garbage about C++, etc.

Will see if I can download again, start a return and try to use it. If it fails I will find another product for now and the future.

See you on TrustPilot!

I think error code 119 is the same as code 190.   You probably need to download the state  program again.

Here's some things to try. Do you have the tax data file ending in .tax2025? Can you start a new return? Try closing everything and rebooting your computer. Oh, and if you are on Windows try updating Windows. And restart your computer again.

Try to start a fake return to be able to download the state program (go to FILE - NEW). Enter some basic information, then go to the state tab and download the state program. Then try to open your existing return, go to FILE - OPEN

Error 190 for state
