efiled W-2 forms 4 days ago, but status is still efile-processing.

Used Quick Employer Form online and efiled W-2s. But status is in "efile-processing" after 4 days. I need to send my employees their W-2s but I cannot do so until efile is accepted. Can anyone from turbotax support debug this issue. Is there a problem with turbotx efiling? What can I do to resolve this?

It can take 2 - 4 weeks for the status to change in Quick Employer Forms.   Use the PDF button next to each form to print the recipient copies and mail copies to recipients by February 2.   This due date is extended to February 16, for 1099-MISC with amounts reported in box 8 or 10.

We have same problem.  Should we send in a paper copy to IRS?

No. Hold off on mailing a paper copy to the IRS. Sending a paper return while your electronic return is still "processing" or "pending" can cause major delays—sometimes for months—because the IRS may flag it as a possible duplicate or identity theft issue

As of January 2026, the IRS opened the filing season on Monday, January 26. With millions of taxpayers filing at once, some backlog in the transmission queue is normal. Sometimes, patience is better than immediate action that can cause issues later.
