e filing

Last year I was able to use the free filing w/ IRS.  This year I started by logging into my account, filling out all the necessary tax info, message says I am not eligible for free filing w/ IRS.  I know this because AGI is over the limit.  Willing to pay but, what is the procedure now to file?

If you started in the IRS Free File Program delivered by TurboTax and want to switch to a paid version of TurboTax Online, please note it will be more difficult to switch back to the IRS Free File Program delivered by TurboTax because of the program requirements.  So if you are certain that you will need to move into the paid service, follow these steps:

  1. Log out of the current account.
  2. Either clear cache and cookies, or go to incognito mode.
  3. Go to turbotax.com.
  4. Select Product & Pricing, and then Online Products.
  5. Select Start for Free on whichever SKU the you need for this year.
  6. Login using the same account credentials you used in the IRS Free File product.
  7. In Tax Home, continue the return.
  8. You will then be prompted to confirm the product switch.
