The downloadable version of Turbo Tax only run on Windows or Mac OS. You may however be able to complete your return online using a web browser.

FOR LINUX USERS - Never Fear ! Turbo Tax Online works Great with Linux Mint and Chrome. Two Years in a row. If you have a business and need to file Schedule C and many other forms. ( Works Great ! ) Ignore the warning it is not fully optimized. It works better than a Disc Copy on Windows. I was once afraid to switch, but the online version seems to be better and faster in every way.

I am so over M$ crap and wanting to switch from Windows7 to Linux Mint.  Which version of TurboTax are you using online? I've always used Home and Business Deluxe. And will I be able to transfer all of my old Turbo Tax files and such from the last year?

Thanking you in advance for your time,
Lisa

If you are switching to the ONLINE program use the Self employed version (same as the downloaded Home & business version) and simply transfer the info forward like usual ...

Here's how to transfer:

You have to use TurboTax Online on your computer to do this transfer (it won’t work from a mobile device/mobile web, or in the mobile app).

  1. Sign in to TurboTax Online and start a new return, or continue a return you already started by selecting the Take me to my return
  2. After the screen has loaded, select the Tax Tools drop-down menu in the left-hand column, and then select Tools.
  3. In the pop-up window, select the Transfer last year's TurboTax return from your computer  (If you don’t see this option, you may need to Clear & Start Over.)

Follow the on-screen instructions to finish transferring your file.
