Does not EFile : FAILED_VALIDATION. There is an update for your version... except there isn't.

I tried several times to exit, update, to no avail. Can you help, or do I have to file by mail? (this is for federal, it did not get to state.)

Has there been any resolution to this?  I tried calling customer support but they are not able to help.

Can you describe the issue you are experiencing? Also, at which point in the program are you experiencing the issue. @atc0_99

I finally found how to get the update.  When Turbo Tax is open look at the tool bar at the very top of the screen.  There are choices there.  Click on the “Turbo Tax” in bold type.  It doesn’t look like something that can be clicked on to reveal a menu, but it is.  There is where the update turbo tax choice is.  After two calls to TT and not getting the answer I needed I clicked on it just to try something and it worked.  My software updated and my EFile went through.

I had the exacdt same problem. I did not find that secret update menu one user mentioned. But when I did Online->Check for Updates, it tells me I have the latest version.

Then, on suggestion from Intuit's phone support, I reran the installer, chose the repair/reinstall option, and did a full reinstall of TurboTax. After getting the latest updates, I was immediately able to successfully transmit the return.

I did visit Online->View installed updates, and I saw that the last update was done on 2nd April. But after doing reinstallation, it told me it installed the update from April 13th. Obviously, TurboTax did not have that latest update.

So the ISSUE is that TurboTax thought it was up to date, but actually it was not. The workaround is to reinstall TurboTax. This is a bug in TurboTax.
