Create a new return to estimate 2025 (but keep 2024 return)

I have not e-filed or printed my 2024 taxes yet.

I want to play with some of the same numbers in a new return to estimate 2025 taxes.

Can I copy the 2024 return and modify some of the information in a new return without impacting any information in my 2024 return?  How do  I do this?

Are you using the Online version or the Desktop installed program?  Not in Online.  In the Desktop program you can save your return with another name to test in.  Go up to File-Save As.

I assume it's the desktop version - purchased on Amazon.

TT asks if I want to continue my 2024 return. When I say Yes, I see the Save As option.

Is this where I can create a new return (from the 2024 return) to test with?

Do not want to lose anything for 2024.

thanks

Yes.  But first save your return with just the regular Save.   Then do a Save As.   Have you started your 2024 yet?

Yes - I have. It's done, just checking the numbers....

Plan on saving the 2024 as a PDF,  then doing a Save As to create a new return for 2025...

Is this what you recommend?

Thx

Yes.   You can still open, save to pdf and print your actual 2024.  When you up to File-Open it will list all your returns in a box.  I have many returns I use to test in and to answer forum questions.
