Corrected 1099-R’s

What should a Corrected 1099-R form look like if it is reversing a 1099-R that was issued in error? $0.00 in Boxes 1 and 2a? Also, do I need to report these two 1099-R’s on my tax return?

A corrected Form 1099-R that was issued to show that there was no distribution would have $0.00 (or be blank) in boxes 1 and 2a.  It would also have the "Corrected" box check.  You only report the corrected 1099-R, which will really be reporting nothing.  But enter it and report it.  Do not report the original.  Once the corrected was issued, it's as if the original never was.
