commissions

Was paid commissions in 2020 from a former employer. Received a W2 from them instead of a 1099-NEC. Should I request to have this corrected or would it be OK to report using the W2? All of the tax information is correct on the W2 for payer and payee and do not have any deductions to offset the income received.

Your choice if you think you should be self employed rather than an employee.  While you have no deductions as an employee at least you don’t have to pay self employment tax.
