Child deductions

Are there any expenses pertaining the child that can be written off? I. E. Uniform clothing, meals or things specially bought to maintain a livable condition, bedding?

In general, these type of child care expenses are not individually deductible; the governmental benefit is the child tax credit and the dependent care credit.  Normal living expenses, such as clothes, food, and even costs to provide housing, are addressed by these credits.  Many states also provide tax credits for child care and for dependents, as well (subject to income requirements).
