Cannot install Turbo Tax 2024

I'm trying to download Turbo Tax 2024 through the usual product key route. I get to the License Agreement part and Install part... but then I get the following prompt "Another installation is in progress. You must complete that installation before continuing this one." 

 

I searched for some resolutions thinking it may be my computer, but I'm able to download other software but not Turbo Tax. Anybody else experience the same issue???

So you haven't recently attempted to install it?

 

This is a long shot, but sometimes long shots are successful.  😁     Are you using Windows, and could you have an incompletely installed Windows Update either installing in the background or waiting to be installed?

 

Or is some other software trying to update/install?

Also, is this how you are doing it?    Did you download the installation software to your computer and launched the installation with the steps in this FAQ?

I am having the exact same problem.  After I download the .exe file and try to complete the installation, I keep getting a message that says "Another installation is in progress. You must complete that installation before continuing this one."  I have gone to the Task Manager, deleted, restarted, shut down, etc., and I still cannot get the program to load.  Can someone tell me and Alan how to get past this problem so we can install?  If not, then I guess I'll have to ask for a refund since I cannot get this to work.

That error is pretty rare, and to have 2 users within a few hours is certainly strange.

If needed, here's how you can phone TurboTax Support for realtime help with your installation issue.  If they are able to resolve it, please post back what was causing it and how it was resolved.  Thanks.

@Jobyjo … I was on a call with an Intuit rep for over an hour where they had to access my computer to see what was going on. The resolution that came about was using my work laptop to download the software… but had to install some other software (C++) to download it. 
@mesquitebean … I checked my Task Manager,  rebooted my computer couple times, ran malware/virus software and couldn’t find a problem. I was able to download other programs online, but not Turbo Tax. 

I’m sorry I wasn’t able to make it through a concrete resolution, but after over an hour on the phone and not making any progress… I went down the path I did.
