Error 1603: "A fatal error occurred during installation or updating"
This didn't help. I still can't update the program. I'm going to try and reinstall it, if that doesn't work I'll buy a different software package from another company. And I've used Turbo Tax and Quicken for over 20 years. This shouldn't be this hard, no one to call to help. Terrible.
I'm not a Microsoft engineer. Turbo had to fix this issue and very quickly. I manually downloaded the update and it said it was successful. When I went to open it insisted it do an update and the same error.... when i was last in I'm stuck at e-file send, it insisted it do an update first.. Now i can't even get into the app.

This does not work for me. It acts like it is downloading but then I get this error:
"Failed to install update. Microsoft Installer Error: 1603 Fatal error during installation. (Released 4/6/23) Program update.
I have turned off any firewalls and such and tried each time to enter the app, which I have already processed my sons' returns on and now I cannot even enter the app on my computer because it goes through trying to update and then fails. This is sooo frustrating. I have used TT for at least 10 years to complete taxes and this year has been the most difficult.
If I uninstall, will my previously filed tax returns for my son disappear?
