Can't get rid of Schedule E

I'm using the desktop software. When I check for errors, TurboTax keeps asking me to fill in information about a Schedule E about my house rental business that I haven't had for 8 years!  How do I get rid of this schedule E? Under the "Tools" tab there is NOTHING about deleting Schedule E forms. (NOTE: TurboTax needs to get rid of this bug!)

Since you are using the desktop software, click on Forms in the upper right of the desktop program screen.

When in Forms mode, locate Schedule E on the left side of the page.  Click on it to open.  At the bottom of the page click on the Delete Form button

Great answer - only problem is that there is no "delete form" button at the bottom of the form.

PS - I already looked for it before coming to this site.

Are you using a Mac desktop?  If so, the procedure is different than when using Windows.

Mac instructions

  1. Open or continue your return.
  2. Switch to Forms Mode by selecting the Forms icon.
  3. From the menu, select the form you want to remove (if you don't see it, select Open Form at the top).
  4. From the Forms menu, select Remove [form name].
  5. Follow any onscreen instructions to remove the form or forms.

if you click on the form in question and then go up to the "forms" tab (at the top of the screen) then an option of "remove form" appears (I swear though that the first time I looked it wasn't there!). Anyway, that appears to have removed the Schedule E that was causing the problem with the "smart check" for me.

good luck to all us suckers that keep using TurboCrap year after frustrating year!!!
