If you are continuing your filing like adding a state to your federal, then you can use the same account, but if you are trying to file for another federal .either for you or someone else you would need to make another account.you are allowed to use the same email but you would need a different username.
If you are trying to make edits to a Federal return, you can always amend and make edits to your return.
