Bug/Defect Report "ALI being set to..." - Cannot Complete Filing

I am reporting a defect I found in the filing flow of TurboTax Deluxe Desktop a moment ago. I believe I completed the payment flow and I am at what is supposed to be at a notification or filing page, but the text appears as code statements without customer-facing text. When I try to continue it shows additional pages that do not have any customer facing text. When I try to restart, it shows a warning that I haven't filed yet. An imgur link to a screen capture is here: https://imgur.com/a/V1SYUel

The text I see is:

ALI being set to
[ ] STTR [1]
[ ] PRINST[1]
[ ] OTHTR[1]
[ ] OTHPR[1] FileByMail

[                                ] FEFHDSUM.STRTNPAY - Return pay status

Update time that I'm tracking if I remember to update = 12/17/2023 10:07PM

The OG poster states this is happening in the desktop version. No way to clear cache or cookies for a desktop application. Unless this is something I am unaware of. I am having the same issue on the desktop version. Trying to file Arizona state tax and the same error message pops up immediately after paying for the state e-file with a credit card.

I am having the exact same issue while trying to file AZ tax return. Defect popped up after paying for state e-file with credit card. No way to move past as I have no clue what I would be selecting. The message is exactly the same, even the time stamp of "12/17/2023 10:07PM" is the same, very odd.

The Arizona state tax forms for tax year 2023 are scheduled to be available on 01/25/2024.

Go to this TurboTax website for federal and state forms availability - https://form-status.app.intuit.com/tax-forms-availability/formsavailability?albRedirect=true&product=Turbotax_online&bu=cg

I called the help number and we went to the top of the app and found the state section and downloaded my state and then clicked update and it worked fine and kept my payment and everything in there. I did not use the link as in other posts I did it through the app with the rep actually looking at my computer and talking to me on the phone. But just a redownload is most likely all that needs to be done.

Thanks for that info!  I had already downloaded my state, but tried downloading again, it wanted to charge me $40, so I backed out, then I went to "Check for Updates."  It informed me that the app was up to date and then I went back to e-filing and VOILA!  No more error!  Not sure why/how, but following your information got me beyond the error and able to e-file both the Federal and State Returns (Even though I still can't print the state return, since the "forms aren't ready."   Thanks! 🙂

I had the same message after paying for state e-file so I closed TT, waited a few minutes, and restarted it. That seemed to fix the issue as it opened to a page asking if I wanted to transmit the e-files. They went through fine.

For anyone still having this issue, it would be helpful If you could send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information so that we can take a closer look.

 @ZT-AZ  @VOAZ  @Destan  @taxer170

Here are the instructions to create a diagnostic file in TurboTax Desktop (CD/Download):

  1. Click on Online in the top left menu of TurboTax CD/Download for Windows
  2. Select 'Send Tax File to Agent'
  3. Write down or send an image of your token number in this thread
