Brokerage Statement Downloads

Turbotax is not downloading my 1099-B - says I haven't entered my Username properly. this is nonsense. I just logged into e-Trade with the same user id

This is the first time in years of Turbotax use I have ever received this message.

ALSO - big pain in the ass.  The Password field does not allow me to paste the password for my brokerage.  I use very secure passwords greater than 32 characters.  This is a bad application design.  You allow to me paste in my userID . but not my password??

Note that there are 3 different E*TRADE partners  (Bank, Advisor & Securities).   Be sure you have the right one.     Also, most financial institutions that partner with TurboTax for import have a separate server only for importing.     Usually the same login and PW will work as your normal account but there might be a problem with the e-Trade import server.   Some financial institutions require that you allow 3rd party access for it to work.

(I tried pasting a PW into e-Trade and it worked fine with a Mac so that might be on online restriction.)

Thanks for the response.

Yep - I am using the Securities partner, as called out on top of my e-Trade statement.

At a minimum, e-Trade should it make it so the password being typed in is visible so one can see if it has been entered in error.  Basic accessibility issues for a programmer.
