Application keeps closing

My federal returns were rejected for 1095-a form. I went back in, certified it was not required, then when I hit transmit again the application keeps closing out and reopening and does not let me re-transmit. has this happened to anyone else?

If you are sure that no one on the return was on an ACA Marketplace plan, you can follow the steps below to certify that you did not receive a 1095-A:

1. Select Federal from the left menu, then Deductions & Credits.

2. Navigate to Medical and select Show More.

3. Select Start or Revisit next to Affordable Care Act (Form 1095-A).

4. You'll be asked if you received a 1095-A. Select No.

5. Select the statement indicating you did not receive a 1095-A. By selecting this certification, you will be able to e-file your return and meet the requirements of reject code F8962-070.

6. Select File from the left menu and continue through the process to resubmit your return.

If you already followed the steps above and you continue having issues, sometimes you need to clear your cache (that is, remove these temporary files) because a full or corrupted cache can cause problems in TurboTax.  You can try these steps if you are using the online version:

  • Clearing your Cache and Cookies
  • Using a different browser
  • Opening an Incognito Window

Please reach out again if your problem persists.

Thank you. I did exactly all that. I even removed uninstalled the application and reinstalled it and did the taxes over again, and it does the same thing.

I’m wondering if it’s a bug with the 2025 TurboTax that needs to be updated? I guess I’ll have to reach out to TurboTax, but I’m afraid cause they never answer.  Thanks.

Mine is having the same issue. I have reinstalled turbotax and did both of the steps provided. The program is still closing after clicking on transmit returns now.

Can you clarify if you are also filing a state tax return? And if so, which state? There have been reports of similar transmission issues with related to certain states.

Do you guys have medical expenses on your return? And if so are there premium expenses listed?

Mo is the state I’m trying to file

but this seems to be a turbo tax issue

No, what I ended up doing was using the online web version of turbo tax and had to almost re-do the whole thing, It was rejected as expected, then when I went to fix it, I followed all the steps above and it worked. It didnt crash because it was not the APP.  I have not had time to contact turbox directly but somoene should. I wonder if they monitor these queues?

No, the 1095-A was not even required.

I was on the phone with them, the first time the call dropped after an hour with a rep trying. Then another time over 1 hour and a half with a rep and his supervisor and no luck! I am considering sending it via paper and mail. Was a mess for all this money i paid for the program home and business.

Have you gone to healthcare.gov and checked to see if they have a 1095-A for you or any of your dependents?

Yes, I called the marketplace and they confirmed we had nothing. We did not have any marketplace insurance in 2025. But Intuit did a recent update which may have resolved the issue. so to whomever is having this same problem, make sure you have the lates update done to your turbotax and that should allow you now to resubmit your taxes. Fixed it for me.
