An error occurred while attempting to create the directory: D:\Config.Msi

I have TurboTax installed on the D:\ ; and although it installed fine, I get an error when it tries to update the State files. (I get the Subject error)

I talked to Technical Support, and the solution is to right click on the TurboTax icon on the Desktop, or wherever you launch the program from, and select "Run as Administrator"

Is the error occurring during the transfer of information from your federal return to your state return, or when the program tries to update the state?

What is the exact error message you are receiving?

You asked: "...when the program tries to update the state? I said when it is trying install the update for the State.

The error message is the Subject of the post. Unfortunately, the post is auto-populated from the chat.

I reached a solution with technical support, and will post it as the answer.
