American Expres Savings

Why doesn't Intuit own up to the fact that their products DO NOT COMMUNICATE WITH AMERICAN EXPRESS BANKING?  Instead, the Turbo Tax products have you proceed through the steps to import data, only to finally end with "Invalid Credentials" notification time-and-time again.  Error notification should indicate that the two are INCOMPATIBLE.  Same holds true for Quicken products.

American Express Bank is on that list.

American Express Bank, FSB is listed as a partner however it is not in the pull down list in the Turbo Tax desktop version.

I do show this on our partner list, but you may need to wait for a future update before it appears in TurboTax.

I'm using TurboTax online. I've already received paper copies of my 1099-INT forms forms from American Express Savings and confirmed they are available online through their website. They still aren't appearing in the list of partners. TurboTax online doesn't provide updates so is this something that they just haven't configured yet?

If you can't import your 1099-INT from American Express Savings, you can enter it yourself.

Choose Enter in a Different Way and Type it in Myself.   There's only a few boxes to enter from your 1099-INT.

You can also try closing TurboTax, clearing your Cache and Cookies and re-try importing.

Here's more info on How to Enter 1099-INT

To enter it manually it may say Skip Import at the bottom instead of I’ll type it in myself.   It changed this year, at least on my Desktop program.  It’s just as fast and easy to enter it yourself instead of importing it.  And sometimes the import downloads wrong.

USAA is also missing as of Fev 8, 2025. And I just did an update of TT Premier.   I'm trying to get a better head start this year, but now things are not as smooth.

If you are using TurboTax Online, try importing using a different browser.

You're claiming that the import list is hard-coded in the software? That seems extremely unlikely, especially since "Updating Partner Information" pops up when you go to the import page.

And yes, I know that I can enter it myself, I do that with most other bank accounts. But not having to do it for the Amex Savings is handy. Fortunately, I have it imported from last year and just have to enter the numbers.

You should just manually enter the information if it's not in the import list. If you had it last year, the 1099 is already there, you just need to enter the amount.
