Amended Tax return

I filed an amended return, because my original return had no W-2's included and i was supposed to add both of them which had $0 adjusted gross income, but when i amended my return i checked it and TurboTax messed it up and I added my W-2's i received from my jobs to my amended return and it put for the original amount of adjusted income as $15,153 which is what I needed for my corrected amount, so both my corrected amount and original amount are the same, but it is the right adjusted income accept it wasn't $15,153 AGI on my original return it was $0 no reported income now it's telling me my refund is $0 for my 1040x I'm supposed to be receiving a $804 refund.

Also in the explain portion on 1040x I put. Taxpayer didn't include W-2's on original return which had a $0 AGI.

I'm going to try to summarize your information, and then we can go through the 1040-X

  • You had to amend your tax return because you didn't include two W-2s
  • The total of both W-2s was +/- $15K
  • The +/- $15K did not show as AGI
  • You posted the 1040X and expected a refund of $804, but it is still zero.

On your copy of the 1040-X

  • Line 1 - AGI should show +/- $15k
    • If it does not, you did not properly enter the two W-2s
  • Line 12 should indicate the withholdings that you had
    • this is from Box 2 of the W-2
    • Again, if this is not what you have, you did not post the W-2 correctly.

Please consult a friend to take a look at the 1040-X prior to filling it.
