Amended returns

I had to amend last year's return.  The change only affects the state return.  Turbo Tax printed out both Fed & State 1040X's.  Question:  Do I have to file the Federal return even though there is no change made to it?

what state.  some states may require that federal return.

 

or you can go to the state's website and look at the instructions for an amended return to see what must be included.

No, you only have to mail to the state, but make sure a copy of the Federal is included with the one you mail to that state.
