Activation loop 2024

I'm having an issue where I have downloaded the Turbotax 2024 H & B software but when I get to the activation screen I select my license code, click the activate button, it spins then comes back to the screen with the license code. I see where some users have had this same issue and followed suggestions to get past this issue. I've tried all of those including:

downloaded from my downloads login;

turned off firewall & antivirus;

added intuit url to allowed pages;

removed all Turbotax from PC including turbotax folder on C drive multiple times

 

Is anyone still having this issue? Has anyone tried anything that worked besides all of the above steps.

I see that you have already tried a lot of these suggestions, but here's a list from a TurboTax help article of troubleshooting ideas if you are having trouble with your download:

 

  • Make sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements.
  • Verify that you have administrator rights on your computer and TurboTax is running as administrator:
    • Right-click the TurboTax icon or setup icon and select Properties. In the Compatibility tab, select the Run this program as administrator box and select OK.
  • In the Control Panel under Internet Options, add https:*.intuit.com to Trusted Sites. Set the security level to Medium.
  • Turn off antivirus software and Windows Defender.
  • Add TurboTax Desktop to your allowed apps in Windows Defender.
  • Clean up and defragment your hard drive.
  • Run Windows Update to keep your computer up-to-date.
  • Update your computer's hardware drivers.
  • Update your security software for firewall, virus, and spyware protection.
  • Make sure you're the only user on your computer running TurboTax. If you're not, switch users and sign out of TurboTax from the other account. If you can't do that, shut down your computer and try again.

I too have been dealing with this issue. I've did all the troubleshooting that the expert listed and still no resolution. This is crazy. I've been dealing with it since 02/21/2025. I hate to but I think I'm going to have to switch to H&R Block.

Some TurboTax customers who are attempting to activate their 2024 TurboTax Desktop product may experience an issue with being looped back to the sign-in screen with no error message, after attempting to sign-in.

I am encountering the issue in mid-April 2024.    Was the problem resolved?

 

The link you provided indicates the issue was resolved 3 months ago.   The threads from the comments are from the past two months.

Try either a Manual Update or here's How to Forcefully Uninstall TurboTax.  Then re-install.

 

Make sure you turn off your anti-virus programs, run as Administrator, and are using the C drive for the program.
