I have turbo tax deluxe and after completing the return and completing the efile page the program wants to charge me for the audit defense even tho I did not select it?  Help?  Ivan

See this TurboTax support FAQ for removing Max benefits (includes Audit Defense) - https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/downgrading/help/can-i-remove-max/01/26691

Or if you are a California resident, see this TurboTax support FAQ for removing Premium services (includes Audit Defense) - https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/downgrading/help/how-do-i-remove-premium-services/01/26266

I actually found the answer on a 2018 question.  The trick is to efile your federal tax return first.  Once you have done that the state part will only charge you the 19.99 charge.  The audit defense charge disappears....  thx tho.

Yep...That works.  Did not know you were using the TurboTax desktop CD/Download editions.

Yes! I was charged for two Audit support charges even though I actually submitted ONE return.

If you were charged in error for using TurboTax, you must speak with a live agent to resolve the discrepancy.

second charge for Turbo tax CD.  had purchased my CD 02/05. I may or may not be able to find my cash receipt but I do have my Sam's Club Mastercard transaction detail.
