MY OPINION: It appears to me that Turbo Tax has dropped the ball with this particular Fee that is EASILY overlooked and misunderstood and NOT identified up front (as the $20/$25 Fee for extra state Downloads is.) It happened to us while using the Desktop version as well. The sad part of it is we were still charged for the fee, even after we found an error in my daughters state tax that actually resulted in her being due a refund instead of her having to pay Illinois. (So NO actual transaction that we should have been charged for!) Even with the ease of TurboTax, this is still a stressful time for us after spending all day working on taxes, to have this sprung on us.
