1099-Misc form Question -

I am a retired insurance property adjuster. I worked for a company after I retired that does house inspections for Allstate Insurance (not my prior employer).  I have a question that asks if this job involves work similar to my main job.  It would of I was still working as an adjuster - but I am retired - so I would think the correct answer is - No-it does not involve work similar to my main job.

Is this correct?

No.  If the 1099-MISC involved compensation for "working" (including providing goods, personal services, consulting, etc.) then say yes.

The question is trying to figure out if the income is "unearned" (like a contest prize, a student stipend) or "earned" from "work."
