1099-int

I have used Turbo Tax for many years however when I try to enter 1099-int it only allows me to enter one and then ask me to net 1099-Div. The past years it has always asked do you have more 1099-int to enter. I do not get that message this year? this is the first thing I have tried to enter. When I said we did not have W2's it went right to 1099-int. It usually allows me to enter my 1009-R before this. Why??

In both the Online and Desktop versions of TurboTax, after completing the entry of a 1099-INT, it will show a summary.

  • At the bottom you can select [+ Add Investments]
  • This will bring you back to the beginning input screen for investments.
  • You can choose between a 1099-INT or the 1099-DIV

I'm not sure ‌why the format changed for selecting the 1099-INT before the 1099-R, but if you wish to post the 1099-R first:

  1. Under Federal
  2. Select Wages & Income
  3. [ I'll choose what I work on
  4. Scroll down to Retirement Plans and Social Security
  5. Select IRA, 401-K Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R)

You can now post your 1099-R
