1099-G missing address

I received a 1099-G from the NJ Department of Labor and there is no address under my name on the form. Turbo Tax asks to confirm the address as it appears on the form. Do I enter my address or leave it blank?

When entering the 1099G in the "Unemployment" topic under the "Income" tab your address should populate from your entries in the "My Info" section.  If not go ahead and enter your address just to be sure.  This will not affect your tax calculations, but may be an efile test area.

TurboTax ask for the address to appear exactly as it is on the 1099-G that I received from the state.  The 1099-G form that I received from the state has no address, it's blank only my name.  It's okay to put an address in turbotax even though the state form I received is blank?

Enter your correct address there.  When you enter background initially into TurboTax, that type of information usually fills accordingly.  It is perfectly fine to enter it here.

Federal, state, or local governments file this form if they made payments of:

  • Unemployment compensation.
  • State or local income tax refunds, credits, or offsets.
  • Reemployment trade adjustment assistance (RTAA) payments.
  • Taxable grants.
  • Agricultural payments.

They also file this form if they received payments on a Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC) loan.
