1099-DIV

If I have one 1099-DIV form but has multiple “funds” list with their own payer’s tin number associated. How would I enter this info? Do I add them all up into one submission or add them individually? If I had them individually, do I list the fund name or all under the financial institution (like recommended in the prompt)?

The recommended action would be to enter the one 1099-DIV you have received using the financial institution as the payer of the dividends. This is what the IRS would be looking for.

  1. Open your TurboTax return > Search (upper right) > type 1099div > Click the Jump to... link
  2. Add Investment or Edit your dividends > Select Enter a different way > Select  Dividends > Select Type it myself
  3. Continue to enter your 1099-DIV and finish this section .

Thank you for your response. So would I then add up all of 1a boxes and so forth to submit just one entry?

Yes, you can do that.  If you have more but all from the same company it would be an easier entry than one-by-one.
