1099-B Form not matching Form 8949

I sold 1 share in a stock in 2024 to close out my holding.  I received a 1099-B and entered the information to TurboTax.  I likely erred with my data entry to TT and probably entered the sale to TT on two separate occasions.

On my final review before submitting my tax return, I noticed that the sale of the 1 share is displaying two times on Form 8949.  Only one of the entries on Form 8949 for this sale is correct.  I wish to remove the incorrect entry.

I tried editing the 1099-B information on TurboTax - but the correct data is showing for the sale.   That is, I see only one sale entered.  My concern is that two separate line items for the sale (one correct, one incorrect) display on Form 8949.  The magnitude of the difference is not huge.  It is $3.

How best to remove the incorrect line item on Form 8949?   So far, I can't find a way to edit and correct.

Should I delete the 1099-B for this item and re-enter the data again as one possible option?

TurboTax Error checking on my return reveals no errors.

Yes, if you aren't able to edit the Form 1099-B then delete it and re-enter it.  Before re-entering, make sure that both transactions that are showing up were entered on the same Form 1099-B.  If you entered the duplicate trade as a separate 1099-B, you do not need to re-enter.

Thank you David.   Yes, that was my first thought - that I had entered the second and duplicate data under another name/ form - which I could not locate.   I'll try the delete approach and re-enter.

Found it and fixed.

User error !

The sale was listed under another mutual fund that had 6 other sales associated with it.

I deleted it and I believe that was the source of the error.

Appreciate your response.
