1098T - do i need to amend?

Are there income or credit limits for income that might keep me from amending my 2024 taxes?

I completely forgot to submit my 1098T.  It is for myself.

I am head of household with 1 dependent.

Thank you!

Any taxpayer who needs to correct their original tax return can file an amendment. You can amend your tax return to include your Form 1098-T because you may be eligible for education credits.

Don't make any changes until your tax return is fully processed, which means you have received your refund or if you have a balance due, it's deducted from your account. If your tax return is pending, don't make any changes.

Follow the instructions below to prepare your amendment using TurboTax Online:

  1. Open TurboTax.
  2. Scroll down to Your tax returns & documents and select 2024 for the year you want to amend.
  3. Select Amend (change) return, then Amend using TurboTax Online.
  4. On the screen OK, let's get a kickstart on your 2024 amended return, select the reason.
  5. On the next screen, select Something Else and Continue.
  6. On the screen Tell us which 2024 return(s) you want to amend, select 2024 Federal or State.
  7. TurboTax will guide you through the screens to prepare your amendment.
