1095-b

TurboTax says I need 1095-A

all I have is 1095-B

you only need 1095-A if you had Marketplace Insurance/healthcare.gov or some other policy holder did an allocation. if it's your account you get the form from their  website 

https://www.healthcare.gov/ 

 

if someone did a policy allocation you would have the get the form from them and find out what the allocation was. form 1095_B is not reported on your tax return 

 

 

some states have their own program. sowe would need to know your state of residence to know if additional guidance is needed

When you are preparing your tax return TurboTax does not tell you that you need a Form 1095-A. It asks you if you received a Form 1095-A. If you did not, then answer No.

 

Did you have health insurance from the Marketplace ("Obamacare") at any time in 2024?


What is it exactly that says you need a Form 1095-A? What exactly does it say? Have you already filed your tax return, or are you still working on it? Did you e-file your tax return and it was rejected?
