1095-A error

I have entered data in Columns A and B and rows 8 through 12 per 1095-A provided by the marketplace.

Entries in Column A, rows 8 through 12, are highlighted in "pink", indicating an error.  Does anybody have a solution?

What is in column C - you may need to add some zeros in column C.    For any month you have an amount in column A, you have to have a positive amount in column B, and any amount (including $0) in column C.   If there is no amount (or $0) in column A, leave all columns blank for that line.

For the rows (8 through 12) that I have entries in Col A & B and nothing (blank) in Col C the form shows a Red Highlight in Col A.

Red errors on Form 1095-A are due to missing data in a column, amounts that do not match, blank boxes, or $0 entries. Make sure that your entries for Form 1095-A are correct, that you marked all the correct boxes in TurboTax. To go back through your entries:

  1. Open or continue your return.
  2. Navigate to the 1095-A section:
    • TurboTax Online/Mobile: Go to 1095-A.
    • TurboTax Desktop: Search for 1095-a, then select the Jump to link.

You should not have "0" or blank in Part III, Column B for any month that someone in your household had coverage under a Marketplace plan.  You need an SLCSP premium every month that you had coverage.

If this is the case on your form. you can use the government's tax tool to get the premium for your second lowest cost Silver plan. Failure to do this will result in a wrong calculation of the premium tax credit.

What is the Premium Tax Credit (PTC) and What is Tax Form 8962?
