1 time payment, where to report?

I received a 1 time payment from a company in Germany for work on an art exhibit in Germany.  I am a US citizen. The money was sent to my bank account via a wire transfer and there is no 1099-NEC.  On which line of my 1040 form would I list this payment? And what, if any extra forms do I need to submit?

It depends. You understand NEC so if this was business income for you, it can be entered as other cash income for your business.

If this is not business income, you can enter the income under Other Reportable Income. Follow these steps to enter the income:

  1. go to the federal income section
  2. scroll to the bottom
  3. Miscellaneous Income, 1099-A, 1099-C, Start
  4. Scroll to the bottom
  5. Other reportable income, Start
  6. Other taxable income?
  7. Select YES
  8. Description  - whatever you want to say,
  9. Amount, enter your amount of income

Thanks.

I don't see

  1. Miscellaneous Income, 1099-A, 1099-C, Start

In the Federal Income choices

But I do see Less Common Income Home sale, canceled debt (1099-C, 1099-A), 1099-SA, gambling, etc., in which I do find the Miscellaneous Income, 1099-A, 1099-C

Is this the correct choice?

Yes, that is the correct choice.
