supporting income documents

For my 1040, W-2 and 1099s were not imported into the form. If I file electronically, what, do I have to do to support my income numbers? Mail in W-2 and 1099s? Nothing?  Or, will all supporting income documents catch up magically in the IRS's system?

Do you have the paper copies of the W-2 and 1099?  If you do and entered the tax data from the paper copies then there is no need to mail those copies to the IRS if you are e-filing the tax return.  The IRS already has the W-2 from your employer and the 1099s from the payers.

Yes. I have the paper copies of W-2 and 1099s. Thank you for the quick response and very helpful info. Also, it may not be enough, but, I offer you a sincere thank you for your service.  No. I did not serve but I have an extreme respect for those who did. Many thanks.
