RMD Shortfall for 2025

My financial advisor made a mistake and did not distribute the minimum RMD by December 31, 2025. There was a 10% shortfall. This was corrected on January 27th and a form 5329 has already been sent to the IRS with a letter requesting the waiver. Since this was already addressed and the IRS notified separate from Turbotax, do I answer the question about RMD distribution in Turbotax as if the full minimum distribution was satisfied? If I answer otherwise, it would be duplicating the already submitted form.

Form 5329 should not have been sent separately.  You could prepare your tax return as if that form had not already been sent, resulting in an identical Form 5329 with explanation being included in your tax return.  Alternatively you could tell TurboTax that no RMD was required so that TurboTax will not include a Form 5329 in your filed tax return.  I'm not sure which approach would be less confusing to the IRS.
