Regarding Refund Status

Hi,

I filed the Federal Tax using TurboTax. Estimated return amount showed $5,522 and while checking the status it's displaying adjusted Refund amount is $2,722. I keyed all the data from W2 as is and no wrong data entry. Can someone help me on getting this issue resolved.

The $2800 difference sounds like you made a mistake and said you did not get the 3rd EIP payment of $1400 per person last year.  If you incorrectly put that back on your return, the IRS checked and took it off.  You cannot get that stimulus payment twice.

Check your online account to see if the IRS says you received the $1400 per person already.

@Dharma83 - TurboTax is a income tax preparation platform.  When the return is submitter to the IRS, TurboTax is no longer involved in the process.  You will have to contact the IRS for details.

Normally, when IRS adjusts your filed return, they will issue you a notice of explanation.  In any event, you will have to contact the IRS for any information relating to the adjustment.  Because of privacy issues, TurboTax is not notified of any information regarding your tax return.

Are you saying that you did NOT receive that payment last year?  And did you file a joint return?  Did your spouse receive the $1400?   Or did you get $1400 for claiming a dependent?

Hi Yes,

We did both received the payment and filing jointly. I don't know where I made the error and how to fix this. Could you help me?

So you got the 2,800 for the both of you?   Then you answered a question wrong and tried to get it again on line 30.   Line 30 is only if you didn't get the full amount or qualify for more like if you had a new baby.

Sorry there is nothing to fix.  The IRS took it off your return because they already sent you the $2,800.  If you try to fix it to say you did get the 2,800 your refund would then be 2800 less.

You do not need to do anything.  The IRS has made the adjustment and has adjusted your refund.  You will receive a refund of $2,722.    The IRS has already made the correction.

Do not file an amended return as it will only cause confusion and one does need to be filed.

Your amended return should have ended up the same as the IRS and then not needed.  Did you file it?

Yes I filled the amendment

I filled amendment and they deducted 2800$ from my account. Now I don't have any refund from IRS.
