I cannot get deduction items to enter

Program will not let me add additional deductions as it says I am over the $10,000 SALT limit

Understand that...but I still want to enter them as a point of documentation and have them listed for a 2025 comparison as some will go away.

Please explain what "additional deduction items" you are trying to enter.

I moved in 2024. Owned two houses When I go to enter deductible items for my second home the program says something like "you have already exceeded the $10,000 limit"    and it will NOT let me enter any more items      OK...get it ...I am over the limit but I still want to enter the data so next year when I go to enter data and there is only one house,,,,, the items will be listed .     Its like the programmers were to LAZY to add that function into the program

It seems you can enter as much property tax as you want, you just get a message that your deduction is limited to $10,000. Here is a screenshot from the property tax section under Your Home and then Property Taxes where I have entered more than $10,000 in property taxes:

Here is the summary screen where all the property taxes show, even though only a portion is deductible:

I am not sure where you are attempting to enter the additional taxes, but you should enter them where you entered the initial taxes. Here are the steps:

1. Deductions and Credits

2. Your Home

3. Property Taxes

4. On the screen that says Enter the property tax you paid in 2024, enter all of the property taxes you paid on both of your properties
