The IRS Form 8936 Clean Vehicle Credit for tax year 2023 has not been finalized in TurboTax.
The form is scheduled to be available on 02/21/2024.

I have seen the 2/21 date in my TT s/w. However, I am wondering why it would take 3wks to post it. :(

Simply put ... the IRS takes time to approve forms in any tax program. After the IRS puts out tech specs on a form the programmers must integrate it into the tax program, then test it and forward it to the IRS for testing and approval ... sadly this takes time so all you can do is wait.
So this form has been delayed in the approval process and the new expected date it will be available has changed.
Oh I know that. It's just that I wish the IRS and TT would put a $7.5k tax credit at a little bit higher priority. After all, the basic form has been around for over a year. It's a modification effort, not build from scratch effort.
So for all of those thinking of buying an EV, this is the year since the $7.5k is deducted at the Tesla delivery store. 🙂
Word has it Ford and GM are scaling back on their EVs due to demand 🙂
