Deduct Computer for Education

I know generally books and computers are not deductible unless they are "required" by the school or a class.  That said, I had to purchase new computers for my wife and son over COVID because of the requirement to do online instruction because classes were not being held in person.  Even now some classes are held online vice in person and my wife has to submit papers and take quizzes and tests online.

Given this, am I justified in claiming the computer as required for the class and deducting it?

Thank you.
