cannot e-file due to endless-loop error regarding K-1 and QBI deduction

This one error is preventing me from e-filing.

"Sch K-1 Wks-Partnerships (BUSINESS NAME, LLC):  Activity name has entries for deductions such as section 179, depletion, section 59(e)(2) and other expenses that may be individually limited.  For purposes of the qualified business income deduction those expenses are not yet supported.  This will be enabled in a subsequent release."

There is a CONTINUE button, and clicking on it dismisses the error, which is still listed as "Needs Review" preventing e-filing.  I'm using Chrome browser.

How to I solve this?

The message has to do with the Qualified Business Income Deduction. (QBID).  Forms 8995 and 8995-A, the forms used to to calculate the amount of QBID, are not final yet.  TurboTax will update the program after the IRS finalizes their instructions.  After that update you should see the QBID on your tax return and you will be able to file.

For current information on forms availability, please click on this link:  Federal forms availability   [Note:  Forms 8995 and 8995-A might appear at the bottom of the list, not necessarily in numerical order.]

Both forms 8995 and 8995-A are marked as available but the same error still persists.  Please advise.

Same problem here. Personal taxes are ready to e-file. When will this be fixed???

I'm using Turbotax Premier for Mac and I downloaded and installed the 2/20/2019 form update and I still get the same message as the OP. Checking the forms status shows that 8995 and 8995-A are both available for print and e-file, but yet I still get the same message as the OP and it won't let me proceed with e-filing.

Form 8995 has been updated per forms schedule but I still am getting the same error notice this morning and can't e-file. Can anyone identify when Turbo Tax will be updated? I have no updates outstanding. I downloaded the latest earlier today but still can't file. Thanks.

Same thing even though their website says 8995-A is available currently. This is frustrating beyond belief.

Checked again this morning. Still unable to e-file. Same error. Hope intuit will notify us when processing can resume on these type of returns. Thanks

I'm still having the same issue as well.  It says the forms are available, but this is not working.

Can someone from Intuit address this issue and when it will be resolved? There are quite a few of us who are impacted and customer service can’t address?

Thank you for any guidance we can be provided.

When will the subsequent release be completed by Intuit? The lack of response or accurate timeline is very frustrating. As a long time user, this is not good customer service. Please address when the work is scheduled. Most companies do a weekly release update but we have been told nothing.

Same status as of 12pm CST on 2/22/20.  TT please advise when this will be updated

Same as others have stated.  Still gives the same message that certain expenses may be individually limited (I have a Section 179 deduction) and those expenses are not yet supported.

I still can't e-file because of not being able to pass the Federal Review.  I've talked with turbo tax customer service and they know nothing more than we do.

Same status as all above as of 2/22/2020 - customer service can not help. Passed me onto an Tax expert for a fee lol.. not the issue.  Online version so it should be updated but who knows.

Update-

Well I am guess that TT can not file until the IRS release the form 2-28-2020 see link below.

TT should update they release forms then... we are using they service as they should be on top of these issues so we dont have too be..

Thanks for update. Now it makes sense. We were previously told release would be 2/20.
customer service should be aligned with IRS releases. Often the service may slip a week on certain forms. The case here.

Excellent information/ thank you.

Except if you check the list that was posted earlier in this thread the 8995-A form is now shown as available.  So which is it?  If there is still a delay due to the IRS not yet releasing something then just be honest about it and show the form as not yet available.  If the form actually is available then why can't the software now recognize it and allow me to e-file?

IRS had it planned for 2/20 as part of that weeks release. Unfortunately it was not done. The service does a weekly release. It is now scheduled for 2/28 as the member later in the thread pointed out to us. It is not uncommon when a release plans to update 10 forms for example 1 may not be done to a last minute glitch. They update the other 9. We should be able to file but not till next weekend unfortunately. Thanks

Right, I appreciate the user research to find the likely hold-up in the process.  But, what bothers me is that TT does not have people in these threads just giving this simple explanation.  Or that TT incorrectly updated their available forms list when something is actually not yet available.  Just communicate with your customers.  Don't send people into an endless filing loop with no resource to explain the issue.  We will understand if something is out of their hands.  But from what I've read from others it seems their support doesn't even know.  Fingers crossed we can file after the 28th.

Your point is excellent. TT has been clueless in providing guidance. I followed up in a survey letting them know they dropped the ball. Their IT staff should be in direct communication with IRS and let us know when something is amiss. Thanks for posting.
