I just loaded TT again a few minutes ago and it downloaded a CA update. I was able to file my CA return successfully so it appears they fixed this issue!

I filed my taxes on Feb 11, 2021 and my federal was accepted but I just received a reject from CA and all it says is "CA_Itemized - We've identified a potential issue in your California return due to an error in our software." When I logged back into TT it doesn't tell me what exactly the problem is.

Tells me to select California and "check it over again" but it doesn't come up with any issues.  What do I do? do I just try and re-file?  If so, it goes to the Federal e-file first (which has already been filed and accepted).

I just received the same rejection, with the same reason code (CA_Itemized).  I opened TurboTax and I was supposed to be instructed as to how to resolve but It's acting like there's no issue with the state return???

No help instructions as promised and no number to talk to a live person :(

I found this:

If you're using a CD or download version of TurboTax:

-Update TurboTax (visit our Support Site if you need help updating).

-Sign in to your TurboTax account.

-Select the Federal tab, then select Deductions and Credits.

- Visit the following topics if you have potential expenses that may apply: Other Investment Expenses, Job-

Related Expenses, Tax Preparation Fees, Moving Expenses, Casualties and Thefts, or Legal Fees.

- After entering any additional expenses, go to your California return by selecting the States Taxes tab.

-Select California, then select Let's check it over.  We'll calculate any changes automatically.

-E-file your return (you won't be charged for e-filing again).

It seems to have worked.

But I don't have any updates to my Federal return; it's already been accepted by the IRS. So that would mean no adjustments to my CA return. Do I just run the check again and re-file? Do you know how many times you can e-refile?

@feekat Some of you have noticed an issue where your return has been in a pending status multiple days. This pending status means we noticed an issue that may have caused your return to be rejected and are doing an extra review to assess the reason it was flagged, resolve it for you, or identify what you need to do to ensure everything is accurate and your return is accepted.  If this applies to you, we will be sending you an email within 48 hours with confirmation that your return has been filed, or instructions for any additional steps that need to be taken to ensure an accurate return is filed, accepted, and you receive every dollar you deserve. We apologize again this has caused a delay in receiving your refund.
