Virginia state schedule A error

My e-file for Virginia has been rejected.  The error message from Turboxtax refers to Virginia Schedule A line 6 which wants details on other taxes.  The boxes there won't let me enter data. The information on the federal schedule A does not transfer. However, the state tax review says the form is complete and ready to file.  This is a contradiction.

You can do one of two things:

  1. You can delete Va Schedule A and then file an amended state return to include it OR
  2. Print the return and mail it.

To delete Virgina Schedule A, Go tax tools>tools>delete a form>delete Va Schedule A

Thanks. I will probably do #2.  But Turbotax should fix the error.  I cannot figure out how to communicate with someone at Turbotax that has the ability to arrange for an update with the error corrected.

Go ahead and see if you can efile even with the error message.

Thanks.  I did try twice and both times I got an email stating that the filing was rejected.

Have you filed a federal return?

If so, was your federal return rejected?

Can you provide the Rejection code/error?

I am having the same exact problem as the original poster...but a month later so clearly there is still some kink somewhere.  My federal return was accepted.  Although Turbotax said they would walk me through correcting the problem they offered no guidance on how to do so.  Since it appears the only solution is to print out the return and mail it in, how does one get refunded from Turbotax for the efile that clearly does not work?

The federal form was accepted.  The problem on the Virginia tax return seems to be a single box that needs financial source information that is visible on the form but will not allow data entry.  I mailed a hard copy of the Virginia tax form. I have not figured out how to get a refund from Turbotax for the efile that did not work.

The federal form was accepted because the information needed for the Virginia form shows in the federal form.  The problem on the Virginia tax return is an entry box on the Schedule A that needs financial source information.  The box is visible but it will not let me enter any information and does not automatically copy the information from the federal form. I did not see any rejection code/error number when the Virginia form was rejected in the electronic submission. I printed out the Virginia form, hand printed the information into the box and mailed it in.  I have not heard whether Virginia has accepted the form I submitted.  I have not received a refund from Turbotax for the e-file that did not work.
